Training
Scope of E-Learning and Training
Introduction
It is critically important for any medium to large business to have established practices and procedures to train staff in managing and dealing with serious incidents and aggression, such as armed robbery, security breaches, workplace fatalities or workplace violence. More important is to provide staff with the necessary skills to assess the risks, identify early warning signs, and take remedial action to diffuse an escalating situation.
An organisation's duty of care is clearly set out in the WA Code of Practice for Workplace Violence which places an emphasis on the provision of training, Part 3.5.4.
Creating a reasonable level of risk awareness within the organisation is critical to gaining the maximum benefit from your investment in internal controls and countermeasures, as well as reducing your risks. These strategies can be utilised for induction and internal training programs, change management, policy implementation and in response to security incidents and activity trends.
